System Security Engineering
CTA System Security Engineers participate in an active role with integrated product teams to develop security architectures that support established security requirements resulting in acceptable levels of risk. This includes participation in informal engineering working groups as well as more formal design reviews. The role includes working directly with internal developers and with external customer clients to aid in understanding of the design and associated risks.
Part of our design work includes researching and assessing developing technologies and commercial off the shelf products to accomplish vendor neutral trade studies. These trade studies allow us to recommend the best solution to a client’s needs and budget. Additionally, our team is experienced at accomplishing cost/benefit analyses to ensure our clients are making the best use of critical budgets.
CTA Engineers have produced designs for state of the art Security Information and Event Management systems supporting GSA using best of breed vulnerability scanning and intrusion detection tools. These designs have been implemented and are currently in use within GSA.
CTA has been an integral part of the Systems Security Engineering work on the F-35 JSF and, in some cases, produced the primary engineering artifacts for various systems within the program. Our work has aided in integrating various development groups within the program to gain operational systems and provided client customers understanding of complex air vehicle and ground systems.
